Velocity
“Velocity” is a redesign by the UK CoI of the Velocity c-book unit initially designed by the French CoI.
This c-book is about velocity, and introduces the notion of speed as derivative of position, position as integral of instantaneous speed and mean speed as, distance divided by time. Building on the original Velocity cbook, other widgets have been added to facilitate the collection of real world data, in the form of videos. Students gather information from the real world in order to analyse what they see. The c-book makes use of videos of car travel and uses a statistics widget to let students record data.
