Bioclimatic Amusement Park

Aiming at provoking innovative learning trajectories and practices,the c-book unit‘bioclimatic amusement park’ links the narrative of a fantastic story with various specifically designed widget instances. The story refers to an amusement park that is settled near the river-side of a town. Many children and young people visit the amusement park carrying out activities in order to have fun and help the owner of the parkco-ordinate the available renewable energy sources and minimize the use of electric energy.

This c-book unit, aiming at 9th grade students, comprises of a series of four activities around the notion of speed, related to real world data. Behind calculating the speed as distance divided by time, the notion of imprecision in speed and position estimations is a key point in this c-book.
Limits

This is a c-book unit created by 6 members of the French CoI, having an expertise mainly in mathematics, informatics and education. Calculating limits presents problems to French students of tertiary education (12th grade), especially the weakest.
Cycling in the city

Cycling in the city” c-book unit, targeting an audience of 6th grade junior high school pupils (11 to 12 years old), represents two intertwined disciplines, Mathematics (Geometry) and Environmental Education. Its theme is “Cycling in the City”, narrowing the Environmental Education focus to urban sustainability (“living sustainably in a city by using a bicycle”).
